Patient Participation Group

 Thanks to all those who signed up to our Patient Group. We are currently running this year's major patient questionnaire and will share the results in mid-october. Please look out for further information in the "Latest News" section. We always welcome new members so please go to the Patient Group page if you would like to join.

Appointments

appointment_1A computerised appointment system is operated for all patients. Please ring 01274 223 118 for an appointment.

Urgent problems will be dealt with the same day but the Doctor may wish to speak to a patient to assess the urgency.

If you can not keep an appointment please inform the surgery as soon as possible so it can be offered to another patient. Appointments can only be booked up to seven days in advance.

We now have prebookable appointments from 07:00 - 08:00 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays These are reserved for patients that can not come in at any other time, e.g. due to work commitments or school children. Please note the telephones will not be manned at this time and the surgery will not be open to the general public.

The appointments work on a same day appointment only basis with a few 7 day routine appointments . This means that from 8am to 9:20am they are prebookable upto 7 days. After 9:20 each day, they are all book on the same day for that appointment. 


Missed Appointments

We are actively tackling our recurrent did not attenders for appointments.

  • If you miss 3 appointments within 12 months, then a letter will be sent to you -
    this will be your first warning.
  • If you miss 2 more appointments within 12 months, a 2nd letter will be sent out -
    this will be your final warning.
  • If another appointment is missed within 12 months -
    you will be removed from our practice list.

Online Appointment Booking Service

If you would like to book internet only slots online 7 days in advance then you must come into the surgery with photo ID and ask at reception for your username and password.

SMS Messaging Appointment Reminder Service

If you would like consent to having SMS messages being sent to your mobile phone for appointment reminders and confirmations, then please download the information leaflet with consent form, fill it in and bring it back into the surgery. We will update your records and you will be reminded of any appointments 1 day before they are due, detailing the exact time and date and GP to be seen.

OPT OUT: If you do not want to be a part of this service anymore then please contact the practice and we will quickly update your record.

Reception

Our receptionists are fully trained and do a difficult job well. Their job is to assist both patients and doctors by facilitating the smooth running of surgeries and clinics. Please remember if you are kept waiting or if any questions seem irritating the receptionist is only carrying out the practice policies. This is especially relevant when a home visit is being requested and the receptionist has to judge the urgency of your request. We operate a zero tolerance to abuse to our staff.

Private Interview Facilities

It is possible to speak to the receptionist privately at a separate interview area. Please enquire at the reception desk.
